Home Sweet Home Women and Children Shelter
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
Home Sweet Home Women and Children Shelter is built on a foundation of equity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Our team proves this with the people we serve, the staff we employ, and the culture we promote. At Home Sweet Home Woman and Children Shelter, we support our commitment to serving all victims of domestic violence and homelessness with services and supportive housing options that meet the community's needs. We do this by incorporating the input of contributors, volunteers, staff, and board members into these values and the organization's future. We respect the unique experience of
diverse contributors and staff and are committed to preserving our values.
We are currently renovating a home as a shelter for women and children, where we provide a variety of programs, such as helping to get them a job, education on short-term skills needed for essential things, and more. Some things that will be included in the renovation are a space for a library, kitchen, living room area, 25 beds, five bedrooms for mothers with children, and a playroom for the kids.

The Size of Our Shelter
Our work is inspired by the belief that everyone deserves a safe place to call home. We are a 25-bed shelter with five separate bedrooms. Each woman will have her room to share with her children. We plan to have a large living room, dining room, kitchen, kids' playroom, laundry room, library, and five shared bathrooms.
Serving People Impacted by Domestic Violence, Homeless Women, and Kids
Our services are for women with or without children experiencing or at risk of experiencing any violence, including physical, emotional, spiritual, or financial abuse. Women come from all walks of life, various backgrounds, and ages.
What Women Can Do if There Is No Room at the Shelter
There are many times when we cannot accommodate all of the women and children needing help when we are at total capacity. If we are at full capacity, we call other shelters in the city to find space. If a woman comes to us and we have no space, we will not turn her away until we find somewhere safe for her to go.
Our first-year goals for our non-profit organization and shelter are to help women and children improve their lives. This will help our community in Conroe, TX, prevent homelessness. This also benefits our community by providing a safe place to live until these women can manage on their own.
